Pascopella, Angela & Richardson, Will., “The New Writing Pedagogy: Using social networks tools to keep up with student interests” District Administration Nov 2009.

The article by Pascopella and Richardson introduces the new epidemic of the internet in a different perspective. They see the advantages it can have as the new pedagogy in classrooms. They specifically discuss a case where a special education fifth grader writes in his blog about WWII and gets a response from a Colonel on how well put the blog was. The nameless Colonel states “your words have painted a vivid picture. You have done an excellent job in illustrating the terror of war. Keep up the good war.” (New Writing Pedagogy).  His use of web-based social networks led him to be a normal eighth grader no longer in special education classes. He is also no longer an outcast and now has friends and changed perspective of life. (New Writing Pedagogy).

This article can help get across the idea of my research paper in a new and more intriguing perspective. That such perspective being that journal writings similar to the writing of the scholar Hemingway can be the new pedagogy and success of writers in the making. The web has now opened doors for writers to express their writing much faster and it doesn’t have boundaries because it can literally end up anywhere. If that concept can be used when coming up with an assignment to hand out to students teachers can focus on what the students feel and comprehend from a reading or a topic instead of structuring an assignment based on the boundaries set up by them. In reality you don’t get anywhere because the answers are just to be found, not that much thinking and creativity is put into it.
